The stream ran underground when we moved in.
After environmental impact studies, designing it
to accommodate a hypothetically huge rain storm and a final approval
from the township, EPA and the Army Corp of Engineers, we finally brought the water to daylight.
Bridges and timber walls were added. The crosspieces prevent
streambed erosion while the weirs create charming waterfalls and keep
the flow in the center of the channel. Edible celery has been added
to the stream. Part whimsy, part erosion control.
